Second Step is currently being used at Hanawalt for core counseling curriculum. In addition to the lessons, Second Step provides follow-up activities to build upon key skills taught, entitled "Following Through Activities". Under the "daily practice" column for each lesson, Days 2 through 5 give some options for follow-up activities. These are meant to be quick to implement and help students review the key concepts. There is also a book list for literature that connects to any key concepts taught. The books lists for K-2 and 3-5 are included below.
